My pronouns are she/her.
I am a 1989 graduate of The Chicago School of Massage Therapy, Class 15.
I was lucky enough to be a student, within walking distance, to the only massage school in the Midwest at the time -- where many students drove up to 2 hours each way to attend.
CSMT was founded by the late Robert King (2013) and late Jim Hackett (2014) -- gone too soon! I was impressed with the level of professionalism and careful respect that Bob, Jim and his capable teaching and administrative staff afforded to every student.
I am a member in good standing with the American Massage Therapy Association and enrich my daily massage therapy practice by staying current with all continuing education requirements for State of Illinois Business Licensing. My business is an LGBTQIA+ safe haven. I acknowledge the Native Nations of the Kiikaapoi, Peoria, Kaskaskia, Potawatomi, and Myaamia on whose land I live and work. I pay respect to their elders: past, present, and emerging.

My current practice is solo, but I built my lovely clientele by establishing myself for 16 years at the Chicago Acupuncture Clinic under the direction of Daniel Plovanich. Many of my clients have followed me to Andersonville, a neighborhood that is vital and lively in supporting small business. My studio is located on a second-floor walk-up in the historic Calo Theater Building -- a well-kept-up, vintage, multi-use office space.
My specialized training is in facial rejuvenation. I trained in the Bellanina Facelift Massage at the Bellanina Institute in Ann Arbor, Michigan (2006) under the expertise of owner and artist, Nina Howard. Nina was a formidable mentor. My valuable training with her as a Certified Continuing Education Seminar Leader in the Bellanina Facelift Massage was an immediate upgrade in the cultivation of my professionalism.
I expanded my interest in skin care by adding my private label, ma loo botanicals for your body to my practice. They are professional and cosmeceutical grade, skin-loving, anti-aging formulas that are cruelty, paraben and sulfate-free. Read more about ma loo botanicals for your body under the "Services" tab.
In September of 2016, I became trained and certified at Bio-Therapeutics in Seattle, Washington as a microcurrent technologist. In conjunction with the Bellanina Facelift Massage, I now offer a second non-invasive, anti-aging option (a series-oriented facial rejuvenation treatment) called the "Bio-Therapeutic Age-Defying Microcurrent Facial". You will find a description and fee schedule under the "Services" tab.
In the News: One of my associates, Carol LaChapelle is a writing coach, teacher and author based in Chicago, IL. She has an online blog called "For Boomers and Beyonders" that addresses issues significant to the aging population. I was pleased when Carol offered to interview me for one of her blog spots. The topic is "Massage and Aging". Enjoy!
